"I could give up chocolate but I'm not a quitter."

Gosh. Gotta love that quote!
I spent most of my college lunch hours with my best buds in a canteen dwelling right next to my dorm. An hour for lunch wasn't enough. We need to rush down from the university building's 4th floor, run to the dorm's canteen, have a quick lunch, finish a few assignments for the afternoon's three or four subjects then climb back to the 4th floor. There wasn't enough time to chit chat but we always had time for a speedy dessert.
Speedy dessert back in those days was all about chocolate crinkles. It tasted extremely enjoyable to the taste buds though not that pleasing to our wallets. At Php5 for a small piece of choc-crinkles? That was 50 cents more than the jeepney fee! But who could blame us? The amount of sugar rush delivered into our nerves played an essential part in keeping our brains awake for the next four hours. Well, those were the days.
Reminiscing got me the idea of jump starting my day with chocolate crinkles. The last time I had a piece was in March of 2000, I think. After being choc-crinkle-sober for almost 11 years, it felt like I needed the boost again!
So there you go. My very first batch of chocolate crinkles! Have never baked 'em before but I am glad to give it a try. It's yum, yum and yum! Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside ~~~ the perfect chocolate crinkles delight!
