Moving Words From Dr. Cox Of Scrubs

by - Friday, April 10, 2009

I am not really a fan of the comedy show Scrubs but I do watch it whenever I have the time. When I say not a fan, it does not mean that I don't like the show. I honestly find each episode I get the chance to see funny and entertaining. However, due to the same reason of being busy, I can't follow every Scrubs episode which makes me feel lost sometimes when watching it.

I was lucky to catch a great episode of the tv series yesterday. It was Scrubs' Episode 2 of Season 6 where Carla gave birth to her baby girl Isabella. There were many touching scenes but the best lines I might never forget was Dr. Cox's. Dr. Cox was sitting on the waiting room with Jordan Sullivan, his ex-wife and current partner (quite confusing, huh?) and his son when out of nowhere, Cox's son asked him one most common question kids throw to their parents, "Where do kids come from?" I honestly thought that Cox would reply to the question using the the most common lines parents use, "Kids are from God" or "Kids are the result of mom and dad's love for each other", etc. What struck me is that Cox answered the question using very moving words (which is of course not his common personality on the show):

"When mom and dad love each other, they close their eyes and make a wish."

The words were very simple yet filled with a very deep meaning that unlike most people say that having their kid was just out of accident or it wasn't meant to be. --- kids are actually blessings parents are longing for all their lives.

Have a great Friday everyone!
