Maxi's Travel Personality

by - Saturday, June 27, 2009

I got bored playing YoVille and Farm Town (both on Facebook). So just for fun, I took the Travel Personality Test on Facebook last night. Here are the results of the test which I only took for less than 5 minutes:

* You are flexible and willing to try new destinations.

* You use a variety of transportation types when you travel.

* You like a unique destination, but you need reliable transportation, hotels, and restaurants to be established before you visit.

* Because you're open to new destinations and adventures, travel companies target your group with special deals and incentives to get you to travel.

Best trip choices for :

1. India: Asia for beginners from sophisticated but crowded Mumbai to poor villages, advanced medical centers, striking architecture, and most speak English.

2. Sweden: See Stockholm with its laissez-faire attitudes but don't miss the glass factories and small picturesque villages in more rural areas.

3. Oregon: Beauty, tranquility, clean air and streams, wine country and beautiful Corvallis (home of Oregon State U.) with a focus on arts, culture and festivals..

4. Hawaii: Always top rated because of great weather, sunny beaches, adventure sports, golf, great dining, night time action, and friendly people.

5. Portugal: Less crowded and more unique than much of Europe, don't miss Lisbon, Madeira, small fishing villages, Azores, and beaches in Algarve.

6. Detroit: Surprised? It's changed. New Detroit has trendy restaurants and clubs, casinos, four major sports teams, museums and galleries, and a young, hip crowd.

7. Australia: Countless miles of beaches with hedonistic lifestyles, coral reefs for scuba diving, and striking contrasts from the outback to beautiful Sydney harbor.

8. Ireland: Ring of Kerry and beauty of the island attracts tourists, but unassuming pubs in small towns serve good food and locals welcome all visitors.

9. Russia: Moscow, St. Petersburg, country side, and river cruises are great but go on a tour to avoid crime, unsafe water and rip-offs of tourists (taxis, shops, etc.)

10. Japan: Lots of contrasts--crowded, impersonal Tokyo and quiet villages; unique Asian and Western bars; sticker shock for food, hotels, bars, or a cup of coffee.

Description:

You are flexible and willing to try new destinations. You use a variety of transportation types when you travel. You like a unique destination, but you need reliable transportation, hotels, and restaurants to be established before you visit. Because you’re open to new destinations and adventures, travel companies target your group with special deals and incentives to get you to travel. When over-commercialization sets in you move on to other destinations.

I can say that the results are almost precise except for the "best trips choices" part. I am already living here in Sweden and the places I dream of visiting one day are United Kingdom, Canada, the USA and Malaysia.

How about you? Have you taken such tests? If you have already, how accurate are the results?

  4. Hi Maxi,
I love to travel and hold the following philosophies.
    A) One's own country holds many wonderful places to visit, so don't continue returning to the same place.
    B) Many countries throughout the world have many wonderful places to visit, so don't keep returning to the same country.

Keep smiling and enjoy the weekend.
