Checking Finnair For Stockholm-Manila Flights
Out of curiosity, I tried checking flights and airfares from Stockholm, Sweden to Manila, Philippines at Finnair.com. As mentioned before, we were planning on a 2010 Philippine vacation sometime in June.
Finnair has been advertising about their cheap flights to Asia which has made me want to look into it. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find cheap direct flights to the Philippines.
Flights cost from 14,000 to 18,000 Swedish crowns per person. Unbelievable! However, if we go for option 2 and fly from Stockholm to Hong Kong, we will be able to cut the cost into more than half (from 6,000 to 7,000 Sweden crowns each) which absolutely makes a lot of difference.
Flying from Hong Kong to Manila, Philippines is not a problem at all. Cebu Pacific is offering really affordable round trip plane fares for only 380 to 510 HKD (about 400 to 550 Swedish crowns). Doing the Math is simple and the result is... we will definitely choose option 2! Well, without any doubt we will be spending some more hours in airports while waiting for connecting flights but that isn't much of a sacrifice at all! After all, we will be having a month and one week for the entire Philippine vacation so 2, 3 or even 8 airport hours will not hurt for sure!

Wow, that's very expensive for flying. The connection flights have always been the way to go for me even just traveling in the USA.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're making a return trip to the Philippines in 2010 my dear blugging friend! ;) :)
direct flights are always better but not when it comes to ticket prices. i'd rather take connecting flights and save money for shopping and fun.
ReplyDeleteis it also expensive to fly from one state to another in the US 'd? :)
