The Laptop Hunt Is On!

by - Tuesday, January 05, 2010

If ever my three week vacation in Manila, Philippines will push through in February, I will have to enroll for distance courses this semester. Considering a 98% chance of flying to Manila, my boyfriend is already busy checking the internet for a reasonable plane fare, a Manila condominium unit where Madde and I will be staying for two weeks and a laptop to have with me throughout the trip to attend to my online subjects.

Yes --- I am the one who's going on a vacation and yes --- it is my boyfriend who's fixing everything for me. Spoiled spoiled spoiled me!

Anyway, we are still hunting for condo units and affordable air fares. About the laptop, it seems that my boyfriend's lovely green eyes are already fixed on a Packard Bell EASYNOTE LJ61-SB-560NC. He has already consulted his youngest brother who is a computer genius especially when it comes to technical specifications. Price wise, I have to say that it isn't that friendly but specs wise, I have to admit that the price is worth it.

Some of the Packard Bell Easynote LJ61-SB-560NC quick specs which we find really impressive are:

Operating System: Windows 7 Premium 64bit
Processor: AMD Turion X2 RM-75
Memory: 4GB (2 x 2048MB)
Hard drive size: 640 GB (2 x 320GB)
Dimensions: 412 x 280 x 38,6 mm
Screen size: 17.3 inches

Hmmm... I'm no computer expert but this laptop seems (very very) okey for an online student and a blogger like me. In fact, this is more than what I need. Well, the search isn't over yet! I hope that we'll be able to come across a better laptop that comes with a lower price.

Happy shopping everyone!

  1. I feel wealthy now - desktop, extremely nice Lenovo ( IBM laptop with every bell and whistle - my brother
works for IBM and I got his discount and, even with that and, on sale a couple of years ago, it was $1500
with all the additions I made ) AND a mini laptop!

  2. I like the Lenovo Ideapad Y series that's with me. Feminine looking and light with it's white keyboard and 14" display. Need not worry about not seeing enough because of its multitouch pad which allows me to enlarge the page display. I also like the feel of the textured touchpad better. And this model isn't even the pricey one. Good luck with your hunt. ",)

hello Carmen! good that you feel wealthy now! everyone deserves to feel that way.

I used to use my boyfriend's other laptop when I arrived here in Sweden. a year later, he gave me a desktop with a huge 24 inch LCD screen which is what a blogger like me needs. then, in 2009, my boyfriend have given me an iPhone which also serves as my mini laptop when away from my desktop - blogging, googling, facebooking, etc.

he asked me if i wanted to have a mini laptop and i said no. if ever i will be getting a laptop, i want one with a 16 or 17 inch screen and i guess i will be getting my wish real soon!

by the way, i am happy about you getting a discount. that's really great. i hope i can have such an opportunity, too.

    happy new year Carmen!

hello Dhemz! diri man gud sa Sweden, wala paki sa brand for as long as the deal is good and the specs are nice kay magkambyo ra man ug items diri every after two years usually ang mga Swedes.

yup. online subjects are more stressful due to the fact that you have to strive on your own. teachers are there to help but not face to face which makes if difficult. hope i can make it somehow.

wow. sa lunes na maglakaw??? kalami ba ui! ako, kay last week of January or first week of February. di pa sure. will make sure first that everything in school's in order.

have a nice and safe trip Dhemz! hugs! :-D :-D :-D
