Snowy Snowy Night

by - Thursday, November 11, 2010

The long dark cold winter nights have just hit Sweden! The clock's been set an hour backward [a week ago], it starts getting really dark before 4PM, thicker blankets are putting the thin ones to rest for the next six months and most importantly, the heaters all over the apartment are now ON.

It's my fourth winter here in Sweden and to be honest, I am still having difficulties adjusting to season turnovers. Winter is like a day-to-day desynchronosis [jet lag] experience for me. My body's always undecided on when to go to bed and when to get up from it. *sigh* Neverthelss, I love winter!

Between 7 and 8 in the evening yesterday, the snow has started falling! Surprise! Surprise! The first day of snow of each year is something worth remembering so I've wrapped myself with the approrite winter outfit, have run to the balcony of our apartment building and have taken photos! The view from the balcony is fascinating! The wind has made it difficult for me to capture pictures perfectly but well... the great thing is that, I've gotten photographs of this year's first shower of snow!
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

Happy winter everyone!

  3. Arrival of your winter is ahead of mine. Trees have turned and coolness has arrived - but no snow upon Cincinnati yet. Nonetheless, my wife is already complaining about how much she hates winter - which has yet to arrive. Stay warm!
