Pinoy And Swedish Versions Of Born This Way

by - Wednesday, February 23, 2011

Lady Gaga has proven once again that she's one sizzling pop superstar as her third studio album's lead single, Born This Way [premiered on the 11th of February] in a blink of an eye has reached out to a lot of souls all around the world.

Imagine this, only hours after the scheduled release of the song, Ulrik Munther of Sweden has already his acoustic version posted on YouTube:

The singer-songwriter-musician Ulrik was born on February 18, 1994 in Kungsbacka Municipality, Sweden, just 30 km. from Göterborg who at the age of 15 won first place in the Melody Grand Prix Nordic 2009 with his own composition "En vanlig dag" [An Ordinary Day] and came in second in the Metro Music Challenge 2010 with the song "Life", again, his own composition. The same year, Ulrik signed a contract with Universal Music in Sweden and his debut single "Boys Don't Cry" was released in January 2011 and became a hit since then... and yup ... Ulrik wrote this song, too.

Ulrik's definitely a breath of fresh air.

On the other hand, the 10-year old Pinoy pride Maria Aragon [born Maria Lourdes Aragon] caught the hearts of millions after publishing her own version of Lady G's Born This Way on February 16 on YouTube...

...in fact, up to this very minute, Maria's video already received 11,920,190 views and still growing. Amazing, huh? Her oldest YouTube video that I was able to dig was posted on 01 April 2008. She was only 7 years old back then.

Maria is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bienvenido Aragon, both Filipinos who are recently residing in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. So yeah... she's pure Pinoy!

Lady G, after seeing the Maria's vid tweeted this:

... and well, Lady G's tweet --- retweeted by Ellen DeGeneres:
... the link http://bit.ly/f4iWG3 of course is the link to Maria's YouTube vid above. It's just a matter of time. People will be seeing Maria Aragon on The Ellen Show... that, I am 99% sure of.

Gotta say, I am proud to be Pinoy and proud to be Swedish!

Paalam! Hej då!
