Segel, Blunt And Their Five-Year Engagement

by - Monday, August 27, 2012

In Sweden, there’s this something called fredagsmys which, when translated into English is simply Friday Cuddle.  It’s more or less like TGIF… however, instead of partying out with friends until the sun comes up, you spend your Friday night at home with your family and closest buddies.  It’s that much awaited evening when you have the right to be lazy and slouch on your favorite couch.  Lights are off, candles are lit while watching a good movie with chocolate, candy, popcorn, chips and cola to complete the good life.  Cozy, isn’t it?

Anyway, it was Friday last week when Bebe and I spent fredagsmys watching The Five-Year Engagement which stars Jason Segel and Emily Blunt.  It was Bebe’s turn to pick a film and a romantic comedy film was what he had in mind.  I am a Segel fan [was then and always will be] and I was so happy to have his face on the telly paired with the pretty Blunt.
Because of life’s surprises and sudden pushes which require life-changing decisions, Tom [Segel] and Violet [Blunt] decide to postpone their wedding day.  One thing leads to another.  They get tired of waiting and putting off the date till later time.  The two part ways, find new lovers… and to make a long story short, find their way back into each other’s arms.

Their wedding day comes as a surprise to Tom.  Somehow, Violet finds a wedding planner  [http://www.southernproductions.net/weddings/southern-affair/, not shown on the movie though], brilliant enough to put everything together the most romantic way possible.  If you haven’t seen it yet, go watch it.  The Tom and Violet wedding is so romantically cute!
Oh.  One more thing, try not to send your guy and his male friends planning the entire wedding without you or else, it might end up like this:
Because your wedding day’s your special day, you deserve to be under the care of trustworthy wedding cake makers, wedding gown experts, wedding floral designers and wedding photographers.  It’s not an easy peasy journey so be sure to get all the help you need to experience your dream wedding.
Happy Monday, everyone!
