Autumn Knitted Tales

by - Sunday, October 07, 2012

Before hitting the sack last night, I published a short post about three lovely trench coats, all under $50 per piece.  Today, I am creating my autumn wish list… well, winter too!

The list is not that long.  So if you are thinking of helping me complete it, there’s no need for you to panic.  Just saying.  *wink*

So, on top of my list is this Hooded Scarf:

I’ve always wanted to have one like this.  I remember, earlier this year, WWE [World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.] sold CM Punk hooded scarves which were at 50% off the regular price tag.  Unfortunately, I was too late to learn about it.  It was already out of stock by the time I hit the webstore.

Lucky enough, I was able to find this hooded scarf on an online wool store [http://www.woolandthegang.com/].  While reading about the product, I then understood that I would have to knit the product myself.  Ouch!  Since I have never knitted before, I was kinda disheartened… for awhile.

Because so want the hooded scarf piece, I will have to purchase the starter knitting kit [http://www.woolandthegang.com/en/collections/index/type:kits/style:2] I need:
4 balls of Peruvian Wool [I am to pick the color combination I want]
1 pair knitting needles
1 piece knitter’s sewing needle
1 hooded scarf pattern

I am still in the process of convincing myself that I can do it.  That I can knit.  That I can be really good at it.  But can I, really?

Number 2 on list is the Lula Hoop Scarf:

Hoop or tube scarves started hitting the fashion world big two years ago [if I recall it right].  It might be a cool idea to knit my very first tube scarf.  If ever, I want it in black.

Third on my list is this Snow Warmer:

I have one poncho in my possession.  I bought it in 2006  in the Philippines and I love it to bits.  Maybe it’s time to get myself another one.  Better yet, knit the piece myself!

Me and my poncho saying, “Hi!”
If ever I embrace this autumn knitted tale challenge, I can therefore conclude that somewhere along the way, I will be knitting handmade gifts [http://www.woolandthegang.com/en/collections/index/type:knitwear/style:2] to relatives and loved ones.  Come to think of it, that’s not a bad idea at all.

How about you?  Do you knit?  If  yes, where did you learn the hobby from?  If not, are you planning on taking the first basic step to knitting?
