Things For Families To Do In Lanzarote
Although many people visit Lanzarote to soak up the sun and get away from the stresses and strains that everyday life sometimes throws at us. In order to ensure that everyone in the family stays content and entertained it is worth planning your journey in advance – from your holiday transfers from Lanzarote airport to your accommodation to the restaurants you’ll visit. If you have children it is even more important to plan your holiday, making sure that you have put plans into place so that the whole family has fun.
If you’re trying to plan your holiday to Lanzarote with your family, how about taking some of these suggestions of things to do and places to see into consideration?
Timanfaya National Park
Visit the volcanic areas which make Lanzarote so famous. The Timanfaya National Park covers the municipalities of the south of the island and is made up entirely of volcanic soil. There is currently only one active volcano at the park, Timanfaya, and visitors can explore the park on camel back, a bus tour or by foot on one of the two guided routes.
Children can buy gifts at the souvenir shop and a bar and restaurant where you can sample Canarian food and see the famous El Diablo statue.
Go Carting in Lanzarote
Go Karting in San Bartolome is not only great fun, but excellent value for money. Built on a hillside, this track has lots of challenging twists and turns and provides a unique holiday memory.
Visit Costa Teguise water park
There are lots of fun rides at Costa Teguise Water Park and they are designed for people of all kinds of taste and ages. There are more relaxing rides like a lazy river, specific rides for younger family members and also ones for the braver members of the family.
Sail on a Catamaran
The whole family will enjoy a catamaran trip and one company in particular provides a luxury trip that sails down to Papagayo. Relax on golden beaches and enjoy delicious food, jet skiing, snorkeling and there is also the possibility of dolphin and whale watching.
Go to Rancho Texas Theme Park
Rancho Texas is a theme park with splash and animal features. This Wild West themed animal park is beautifully maintained and has 60000 square metres of desert and gardens with lots of animals and activities to keep the whole family happy.
Submarine Safari
Submarine Safaris offers submarine tours and diving experiences where passengers can enjoy the spectacular volcanic ecosystem which had earned Lanzarote the title of the “Biosphere Reserve”. See and experience the beautiful sea life which is an experience not to be missed.
The submarine dive is a great experience for every family member above the age of 2 years and each guest will receive their own personalised diving certificate – proving that you have dived to the the bottom of the Atlantic but haven’t gotten your hair wet!
Go to the Canarian Cetacean Museum
The Canaries are known for their sea life, in particular dolphins and whales and the Canarian Cetacean Museum allows visitors the chance to discover the intriguing lifestyle of these fascinating animals.
Have a guided tour of the island
There are a number of companies that run guided tours of the island so it’s really up to you which kind you choose to go with. Tour subjects include the following: North Tour, South Tour, Teguise Market, Grand Island Tour, and A la Carte Tours where you choose the itinerary and let your very own tour guide and driver do the rest!
Whichever activities you choose to do and places you choose to visit, making sure that you are well prepared is key to having a great time. Booking your Lanzarote airport transfers is yet another way to ensure that another element of your holiday is already in hand before you even leave home, letting you jet off without worries.
