Festival Fashion Tips

by - Sunday, September 01, 2013

Festival season is almost over, but there are still a few fun music festivals on the horizon. Whether you’re heading to a festival season this weekend or want to be well prepared for next year, make sure you read our festival tips.

If you’re a festival virgin then the first thing you need to know is that, no matter what the weather forecast has said for the past ten weeks, chances are it’s going to rain. It’s just the way it is! So, no festival outfit is complete without welly boots and a waterproof mac. That’s not to say that you can’t make them work for you though. Go for bright and patterned welly boots that pack a punch, rather than boring green boots that fade into the background, and make your poncho loud, proud and easy to be spotted so your friends can’t lose you in the crowd!

The best types of outfit to wear for festivals are those which suit both rain and shine as you’re outside all the time and the skies are prone to change. Denim is a bad idea as it gets very wet, very easily and takes a long time to dry. There’s nothing fun about sitting in damp denim all weekend, so leave the jeans at home and instead pull on a summer dress but team with leggings to keep warm. A cute cardigan, hoodie or light jacket is ideal to go with this as you can take it off if it gets too hot: much better than wearing a thick woollen dress that leaves you sweating when the sun comes out.

Now that you’ve got your fashion sorted, you should know that festivals are a great place to meet a potential new match! If you want to find out whether love is on the horizon for you, visit PsychicLiving to see what your festival future has in store…
