Save On A Spa Day–Use Coffee Grounds Instead

by - Wednesday, March 26, 2014

Constant coffee drinking, travelling and purchasing beauty products can leave you short on disposable income for other necessities… such as food! So why not get the best of both and use coffee grounds to give yourself a spa day at home. You may save a good £500 in the process!

Exfoliate With Coffee Grounds

Put your trusty exfoliator to the side and substitute it for a week with coffee grounds - you may never go back. Purchase some vitamin E oil and add a few drops to used coffee grounds [a little goes a long way], then apply it to your skin and scrub away. Coffee grounds stimulate blood flow which will make your skin tighter.

Rejuvenate Your Hair

Have dark red or brunette hair? This could be the answer to your prayers. Pour some used coffee grounds into hot water and leave to go lukewarm. After washing your hair as normal pour the mixture through your hair and rinse. It should help your colour come back to life.

Reduce Cellulite

While there is scientifically proven way to remove cellulite, many celebrities swear by this method. Put some used coffee grounds into a bowl and mix with an egg white. Heat it up in the microwave [around 2 mins] and then gently rub it over your problem areas. Grab some cling film and tightly wrap it around the area[s].  Leave it for as long as you want/can and after you remove the area should fill tighter - do this once or twice a week.

Boost Your Tan

Tanning oils are damming to the skin. As an alternative boil your used coffee grounds in a mug of water and once cooled spread all over your body. Soak for around 15-20 minutes then rinse off - magic!

Coffee Facelift

Similar to the cellulite remedy, mix one egg white and some used coffee grounds in a bowl. But don’t heat up. Spread the mixture over your face and leave. When the mask feels dry rinse it off for a tighter feeling face!
