Six Beauty Tips For Date Night

by - Tuesday, August 04, 2015

After you have been in a relationship for a while, you start getting comfortable. You and your boyfriend most probably spend most of your time curled up on the sofa watching movies or your favorite new TV series, am I right?

If you and your partner have got into a routine of spending all your time in, instead of going out, it might be time to introduce date night. You can either plan your date night for once a week or once a month, it’s up to you.

For couples in long-term relationships, date night is a great idea as it gives you the chance to go out and spend some quality time together. Of course, for us girls, one of the best things about date night is being able to get all dressed up - beautifying ourselves is so much fun.

You might have been together for a while, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t want to look good for your man. To help you make yourself look amazing for date night, here are our top six date night tips:

1. Have a relaxing bath

A couple of hours before you are due to go out on your date, run yourself a nice relaxing bath. Pop some of your favorite bath salts or bubble bath in your bath and spend half an hour relaxing.

While you are in the bath, spend some time pampering yourself. Wash your hair, exfoliate your face, feet, and body, and shave your legs. Spend some time pampering yourself and making yourself feel good before your date.

2. Moisturize

Once you get out of the bath, the next step is to moisturize your whole body. If you want to smell glorious for your date, smother yourself in your favorite scented moisturizer. You can use scented moisturizer all of your body, but it’s best to leave it off of your face. Otherwise, it could cause a reaction.

For your face, use a fragrance-free moisturizer. The skin on your face is more sensitive than the skin on the rest of your body, so it’s always best to steer clear of scents.

3. Dry your hair

Once your moisturizer has soaked in, the next thing to do is dry and brush through your hair. It’s best to do this as soon after getting out of the bath as possible so that it doesn’t start to dry.

If you find that your hair tangles easily, make sure that before brushing it, that you apply a detangling spray to it. You could also use a specialist detangling hair brush, such as a Tangle Tezzer, to ensure that your hair stays knot-free all night.

If you are going to be using the hot setting on your hair dryer, make sure to apply a heat protector spray to your hair before starting to dry it. This will help to protect your hair from the heat, helping to prevent the ends from splitting or the hair breaking.

4. Choose your outfit

Once you have dried your hair, the next step is to choose an outfit and get dressed. The outfit you choose doesn’t have to be too over the top; it just needs to be something nice, that is suitable for where you are going.

For instance, for dinner at a nice restaurant, you might choose to wear a dress and heels. However, if you are going to the movies and then out for drinks, a more casual outfit would be a better option.

5. Do your hair

Once you are dressed, you can then focus on doing your hair. Think about how you would like to wear it - this may depend on where you are going for your date.

For instance, if you are going to the theater, to see a show, you might want to curl your hair with a Hot Tools curling iron. However, if you are going to an outdoor venue, you might want to wear your hair in an up-do to prevent it going frizzy.

6. Apply your makeup

Once everything else is done - your outfit is chosen, and your hair has been styled, the final step is doing your makeup. Make sure that you leave enough time to do your makeup, as otherwise you may end up rushing and not doing it as well.

When you have been with your partner for a while, being able to go out on a date every once in a while is important. For your next date night, follow the tips in this guide and you will look spectacular for your evening out.
