Baltimore is brimming with things to do for all ages, whether you are visiting for a day or want to plan a holiday here, you will be spoilt for choice. With fantastic food, sporting events and activities, here are just seven reasons to visit Baltimore.
Little Italy
For those who love pizza, pasta and all things Italian, Little Italy is filled with fabulous restaurants where you can eat authentic Italian cuisine. As you walk down the street, you can smell the fresh pizzas being cooked; enough to make you want to stay the week just for the food. Baltimore is known for many great food spots, but Little Italy has got to be top of the list.
Light City
Light City is a great event to visit, especially if you love art. Artists gather to show their wonderful and wacky creations of light sculptures and displays as well as mixed media art. This is not something you see every day, so if you happen to be visiting Baltimore during the Light City event, it’s not to be missed.
Escape Room
Whilst visiting Baltimore, a unique experience awaits at the Escape Room Baltimore. Fun and thrilling for all ages, these escape rooms consist of many different story lines, all with one similar idea; you must escape before the time is up. Whether you wish to go for solving the mystery of the haunted house or you want to stop the runaway train, this is an experience like no other.
Fort McHenry
For all the history buffs out there, especially those interested in the Civil War, Fort McHenry is a place you should see whilst visiting Baltimore. In Western Baltimore’s Harbor, this fort is maintained and run by the National Park Service. On September 13th and 14th 1814, the Battle of Baltimore was fought here.
The National Aquarium
For a family day out, Baltimore’s National Aquarium is home to lots of sea life including seals and dolphins. Although this aquarium looks small from the outside, with talks and activities going on all throughout the day, you can easily spend hours here.
The Maryland Zoo
Maryland Zoo is a fun day out for children and adults alike. With giraffes, elephants and many other magnificent animals, the zoo is somewhere to spend the whole day if you have the time. You can watch the elephants have their bath time and you can even feed the giraffes if you are brave enough!
The Inner Harbor
This is one of Baltimore’s biggest tourist attractions, with plenty of things to do and see, and all with a great view. There are many cruises down the Inner Harbor where you can take in the sights and sounds of Baltimore, day or night. The Harborplace offers a unique range of shops and entertainment, as well as many dining spots.
Baltimore has many fun things to do as well as the ones listed here. Before booking, remember to check out their official website for any upcoming events that may be happening on the same dates.
